‘Thalaivettian Palayam’: Prime Video’s hit series ‘Panchayat’ gets a Tamil remake

Prime Video has announced the premiere date of its upcoming Tamil original comedy-drama series Thalaivettian Palayam. Directed by Naga marmadesm And Woman vs. Woman Fame, the series is touted to be a Tamil remake of the platform’s hit Hindi series PanchayatWritten by Balakumaran Murugesan.

The eight-episode series is produced by The Viral Fever (TVF). Abhishek Kumar, Chetan Kadambi, Devdarshini, Niyathi, Anand Samy and Paul Raj in lead roles. Thalaivettian Palayam Set to premiere on Prime Video on September 20 in Tamil with English subtitles

According to a synopsis, “The comedy-drama series follows Siddharth (Abhishek Kumar), an engineering graduate from Chennai, who reluctantly takes a job outside his comfort zone as the secretary of Thalaivettiyan Palayam in a remote village. As he navigates the rhythms of rural life and its eccentric villagers, He then finds himself trapped in a comedy of errors full of twists and turns.”
