Tamil film producer G Delhi Babu, aged 50, passed away in the early hours of Monday, September 9 in Chennai. According to sources, the producer died around 12.30 am on Monday and the last rites will be held later this evening.
His production house, Access Film Factory, confirmed his death through X and requested privacy during this difficult time.
Delhi Babu has bankrolled like several other Tamil films Ratasan, Oh My Kadvule, Bachelor And Maragadh Nanayam. His production house also has multiple projects currently in various stages of production.
Many producers, directors and technicians have expressed grief over Delhi Babu’s death. Its director is ARK Saravan Maragadh Nanayam fame, mentioned in a tweet that the producer gave him life through the film which marked his directorial debut.
Aswath Marimuthu, whose first film Oh my dear Produced by Delhi Babu, X wrote that his life changed after he told the story of the film to the producer.
Co-producer SR Prabhu called Delhi Babu’s death “a big loss to the film industry”.
Music director Gibran, who worked with the producer night sleep Taking it to X, he said, “He had big dreams and he was a man with big dreams.”
