MAMI reveals its lineup for Mumbai Film Festival 2024


MAMI has unveiled its official global film selection for the Mumbai Film Festival 2024. Running from October 19 to 24, this year’s edition will feature 110 films from over 45 countries covering over 50 languages, genres and lengths.

A major attraction of the 2024 festival is the South Asia Competition, which serves as a platform for independent filmmakers from the region and its diaspora. Eleven films will compete in the category, including seven South Asian and four Indian productions.

Two of these are official Oscar submissions from their respective countries. The selection spans a variety of genres, including fiction, documentary and animation, with most films making their South Asian premiere.

Last year’s festival was held over 10 days in November and December last year where more than 250 films were screened, including festival openers, The Buckingham Murders and the final film, Priscilla.

Apart from screenings, the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival offers masterclasses, panel discussions and South Asia competition awards. Significant awards included NETPAC Award, Rashid Irani Young Critics’ Choice AwardAnd Excellence in cinema.
