“I have worked a lot on this film. Movies are tough, getting a good break is tough. Somehow I got lucky. It has to be my late mother’s blessings,” said Sagar, who has a Masters in Engineering.
Sagar and Junaiz didn’t watch the film in full until it was released in theatres. “All I saw was my struggle of the last eight years – I remembered the pain of the journey that brought me here. It has been difficult. This is the result of our work of one and a half years. In the past I’ve been told that I won’t make it as an actor, that I need to find something else. Now, when I look back…wow! I acted in a Joju George film.
This is Junize’s first acting work. He is a content creator on Instagram since 2016. “I always wanted to act. But I didn’t actively pursue it, nor did I tell anyone about it. joju (george) consciousness He saw something in me to offer me the role. The content I create is comedy-oriented, while film roles are very different!” Junaiz, 29, said, adding that even while narrating the Joju story, she was not confident of delivering what was expected of her.
“I know myself, and my limitations, I had no experience [as an actor] Anyway, Jojo consciousness I was sure. I have always wanted to act, maybe I got exposure and he made my dream come true. Junize added. Working with a friend on his first film made the task comfortable.
Joju first saw the two together on television as contestants on the popular reality show. They became friends in the show and Joju noticed their friendship. Sagar admitted that he was in the ‘next’ phase of his career. It was an opportunity, he says, they grabbed with both hands.
Kudos to Joju George
Their admiration for Joju is evident when they talk about him. “We met him after the show, and he suggested that we need to ‘strengthen’ our bond; Build our chemistry further. To do that we lived together in a house in Thrissur for four-odd months. It was a kind of quarantine, we didn’t interact much with others. It was just the two of us,” adds Junaiz. An acting workshop helped them prepare for the film.
Sagar and Junize had not read the script then; Perhaps Joju wanted them to appear without the baggage of preparation.
Junaiz, a native of Kannur, said the preparation was challenging. He cut his hair to get the look. Sagar and he would visit Thrissur’s fish market on day breaks to feel the place and the ‘energy’. Then there was the 3 am walk around Thrissur’s Vadakumnathan temple… “Even as he was getting us ready, Joju consciousness Asked to be honest in front of the camera. He showed us what He wanted, but warned us against imitating Him!” On more than one occasion, before filming began, Junaiz thought she was going to be fired for not being good enough.
Philosophical, he says, “The film has changed me in many ways. It helped me overcome some of my fears — heights and speed. That first scene on top of the building, for example, was terrifying. Likewise the high-speed chase… shot using the Russian arm camera [U Crane] which runs at high speed. joju consciousness Told me I could choose a stunt double. But I didn’t. And I’m shy and introverted…look at me now! Overcame many fears…Adipoli!” agrees Sagar. He’s also afraid of heights and that first scene, he admits, scared the wits out of him. “But there was no way I was going to give in to that fear!”
For now they are basking and enjoying the success of the film. Junize isn’t thinking too much about what comes next; Sagar agrees that they need to be careful about their next project.
Appreciation for the water It is pouring in from actor Kamal Haasan and directors Anurag Kashyap and Karthik Subbaraj among others. When asked about feedback on their continued performance, they simply say, “It’s a combination of luck and hard work. joju consciousness came into our lives at the right time and we got to work with the Powerhouse crew…Magic!”
