Storyline: A Roman holiday turns into work for Emily as she samples the fine cuisine and sights
Since the 1956 William Wyler classic is a favorite – Hepburn as beautiful as Princess Anna and Peck, as pretty as Average Joe Bradley, anyone would be happy to ride around Rome on a white scooter rather than Emily and Gothard sampling the sumptuous burrata, pasta and tiramisu. .
Part 2 of Season 4 opens with Emily getting ready to go to Chicago for Christmas. When the flight is cancelled, she joins her chef boyfriend Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and her ex-lover Camille (Camille Rajat), who is pregnant with his child, at her parents’ country estate in Megeve… so swimming. Remember Camille’s brother Timothy (Victor Mutlet) and his TikTok videos? He explains to Emily that it was nothing personal. Camille, incidentally, has yet to tell Gabrielle the truth about her pregnancy.
Stranded on a ski slope, Emily is rescued by a handsome stranger, Marcelo, and things look interesting again. A bona fide villain is introduced in Genevieve (Thalia Besson). Genevieve, the daughter of Emily’s boss, Sylvie’s (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) husband, Laurent G, (Arnaud Binard) arrives from New York looking for a job when Sylvie’s coach crashes.
A still from ‘Emily in Paris’ Season 4 (Episode 2).
When all else fails, Sylvie offers Genevieve a job at her firm, Agence Grateau, after a Paris makeover. Although Emily is happy to show Genevieve the ropes at first, when she sees that she’s comfortable with Gabrielle, she’s not so sure. Especially since one of Gabrielle’s complaints to Emily is that she makes no effort to speak her language, which Genevieve deliberately mistranslates into fluent French.
Meanwhile, Emily’s best friend Mindy (Ashley Park) is in trouble of her own as she takes a gig exposing her boyfriend Nicholas (Paul Forman) at Crazy Horse to cash in on the band’s shot at the Eurovision contest. The awkwardness doesn’t help either, nor does Mindy’s smoking hot photo shoot with her ex-boyfriend Benoit (Kevin Dias), though Mindy says it’s just marketing. Nicholas, who is making a bid for CEO of the family business of luxury goods, thinks it reflects badly on him.
When everything becomes too much for her, Emily accepts Marcelo’s offer to show her around Rome, but Sylvie asks her Emily to have a meeting with Marcelo, which leads to some misunderstandings. Emily’s colleagues Julien (Samuel Arnold) and Luc (Bruno Gouri) are looking for Emily, and Julien saves Emily’s chair from the sleazy Genevieve, and Luc gets into a lot of trouble with restaurant suggestions for Krakow, when Emily lies instead of going to Rome.
The fashion is eye-watering with a predominance of red and polka dots; Emily’s ugly Christmas jumper is cute and as mentioned earlier, channeling Audrey Hepburn’s timeless gamine style can never go wrong. At the end of season 4, Emily has an offer to change the title. Will he accept it, the nation wants to know.
