Fast, Furious and Infuriatingly Fatuous
Stunt sequences on the big screen have never been so boring. Except Mian Chote MianDirected and co-written by Ali Abbas Zafar, there is a surfeit of explosive action. The string of loud and flashy set pieces leaves no room for anything else. Except Mian Chote Mian All are clones, cliches and cacophony. They compete with each other to be seen and heard in a cauldron over Dean where crass excess is normal.
Akshay Kumar, who obviously is Except Mian The title, Captain Feroze aka Freddy, fades away for a brief moment. The latter, one who cannot be rolled without being sneezed at, insists that he is better than he is – fast and furious.
What is Fast and Furious? Except Mian Chote Mian Either it’s infuriatingly fatuous, too. It seeks to link one major conflict to the next by flimsy, horribly contrived means, from a chaotic sequence of action slamming into another action without pausing for breath.
Bullets fly, bombs explode, vehicles burst into flames, and helicopters, tanks, and armored vehicles run riot in an event so exhausting and terrifying that it numbs the brain to the point where you begin to wonder if there really are any gray cells. Moved into film production.
The story is surprisingly hollow. Freddy and Rocky, two crack soldiers, are court-martialed and dismissed from the army for insubordination. Viewers won’t figure out why until much later in the film. But before we get to that point, we see Freddy working an oil mine in a desert and Rocky fighting fires and rescuing a stranded cat in Delhi.
Even earlier, an extended action sequence is mounted to show the world why these two men are considered a formidable pair of extraction experts. Indian ambassador and his family in Kabul captured by terrorists. Freddy and Rocky ride their horses into the camp.
By the time the two finish their mission, the hideout has been razed to the ground. And on their way out, they also kill a wanted terrorist mastermind who has eluded the CIA for years.
Eight years later, Freddy and Rocky are called back into the thick of the action when the villain – the taunting man we see hiding behind a metal mask in the film’s opening sequence where he ambushes an army convoy – announces his intention to use a powerful new weapon to destroy India. weapons
Freddy and Rocky’s boss, Major Azad (Ranit Roy), is convinced that the two men are still the best in the business but an old friend of theirs has other ideas. And that’s where the clones come in The actioner himself is an unimaginable replica of a bad guy created to destroy the world
The film deals with watan (nation), verdi (uniform) and zamir (conscience), the three things to which true soldiers are unwaveringly committed. We will achieve victory but without abandoning the principles that guide us, say top military figures. A film that equips the villain with the power of artificial intelligence has more artificiality than intelligence. He floats the idea of mind-controlled, indestructible soldiers to fight against brainwashed terrorists. Having failed in his plan, he decided to prove a point.
In a predominantly man’s world, a girl fights alongside two soldiers. He is Captain Misha (Manushi Chillar), who has a few misguided action scenes of his own to prove his worth. Another girl pops up a bit later in the film. He is Paminder “Pam” Bawa (Alaya F), a naive person who pretends to be a blockhead. He is brought in on a mission to crack complex computer codes.
And, of course, there’s an extended special appearance by Sonakshi Sinha as a senior army officer who goes beyond the call of duty and volunteers to prepare herself for a test to save the nation from impending danger.
Of all the dull action that takes place, Except Mian Chote Mian Trying too hard to have fun. It doesn’t need it. There’s something instantly hilarious about an aspiring blockbuster that’s projected as God’s gift to the genre but flails aimlessly on a wing and a prayer.
One example will suffice. Pam and Rocky rush to Waterloo Station on a perilous journey. On the move, the former puts the finishing touches on her makeup. Are you going to any party, Rocky asks. If I die, I want to make sure I look good, replies Pam. This is the idea of humor in this film.
Actors have no chance here. The two men huff and puff their way through the film, Prithviraj Sukumaran tries in vain to make the absurd passable, and Sonakshi, Manushi and Alay are at best transferable parts of the backdrop.
Except Mian Chote Mian Do not offer a single piece that can be considered a saving grace. Sitting through is a slog without breaks. Even if you are a fan of Akshay and Tiger, think twice.
